Howard W. Popp, M.D.

Graduated from Columbia Medical School in New York where he obtained his Medical Doctorate degree. Prior to studying medicine he received an Ivy League undergraduate education at Columbia University with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He went on to obtain a Masters Degree in Biomedical Engineering at Columbia University. Dr. Popp was a general surgery resident at Johns Hopkins and completed two prestigious NIH Research Fellowships. Dr. Popp completed his anesthesiology residency and was Chief Resident along with completing the Anesthesia Pain Management Fellowship and being selected Chief Fellow in Pain Management at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio.

Howard W. Popp, M.D. was presented the Valedictorian Award in recognition of academic excellence when completing his Executive M.B.A. in Health Sector Management and Policy at the University of Miami School of Business Administation in December, 2013.

Dr. Popp practiced and was faculty at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland,Ohio. He was the Director of Pain Management at the Lorain Facility for three and a half years prior to moving to South Florida.

Dr. Howard W. Popp has been appointed and is currently Section Chief of Pain Management at Coral Gables Hospital. Dr. Howard W. Popp was a former Program Director of the Pain Medicine Fellowship at Larkin Hospital in Miami, Florida and is currently a Clinical professor. He has authored numerous medical publications, including collaboration on an international textbook of pain management.

Dr. Popp is Board Certified by the American Board of Pain Medicine and a Diplomate of the American Academy of Pain Management. He is also a Board Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology with a Subspecialty Certification in Pain Management.

Dr. Popp was Recertified by the American Board of Anesthesiology with a Subspecialty in Pain Management in 2008. He was also Recertified by the American Board of Pain Medicine in 2009 and in 2019.

Vivian Hernandez-Popp, M.D.

Graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Miami College of Arts and Sciences. Dr. Hernandez-Popp went on to obtain her Medical Doctorate degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine. She completed her Internal Medicine Internship and her Anesthesiology Residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Hernandez-Popp completed a Pain Management Fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. She was in practice and a faculty member at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation prior to returning to South Florida. While at CCF she did clinical research and had published articles in medical journals.

Dr. Hernandez-Popp is Board Certified by the American Board of Pain Medicine and a Diplomate of the American Academy of Pain Management. She is also Board Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology with a Subspecialty Certification in Pain Management.

Dr. Hernandez-Popp was Recertified by the American Board of Anesthesiology with Subspecialty in Pain Management in 2008. She was also Recertified by the American Board of Pain Medicine in 2009 and in 2019.
